A Parks Canada National Historic Site, the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal opened in 1843 to join lac Saint-Louis and lac des Deux-Montagnes, at the mouth of the Ottawa River. Today, pleasure boating has replaced commercial boating.
